So many questions

Check out our FAQ below. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, say Hi and we’ll help you out.

Pre-class nerves

  • In short - people like you! HiRiders are all different ages, and come from different backgrounds, with different fitness levels. The only thing you need is a smile (and some gym clothing would be good...)

  • No. It doesn’t matter if it’s your first or your hundredth class, our instructors will help you get the most out of your Ride.

  • No. Everyone has to start somewhere! You can take the class at your own pace.

  • Only to tell you you’re doing an amazing job! We want you to have fun at classes, so we don’t single anyone out or come and turn your resistance up.

  • Absolutely no cringe, we swear. You might get a quick round of applause as our newest HiRider, but then the music gets cranked up and we get started.

  • We want to play music you know and love. We promise - no weird remixes, no headachey stuff you’ll instantly forget.

  • After class we go somewhere to get a drink or some food. Everyone’s warmly welcome but there’s no pressure to come. We always make sure there are non-alcoholic drink options available.

Booking classes

  • Click ‘Get me on a Bike’ at the top of the page and we’ll help you get started.

  • Nope!

  • Yes! If a class is sold out, get in touch with us and we’ll add you to the waitlis.

  • Nope! You can just pay class by class, or buy a package.

  • Yes, but we try and be generous about this. We know we don’t run that many classes (yet!) so we put a 6-month expiry on all our packages and credits.

  • We’re looking at this, but unfortunately we can’t offer it until we scale up a bit. Watch this space.

  • Of course! The more the merrier. Please ask them to create an account and sign up.

  • Yes! You don’t choose a specific bike when you book, so you might want to arrive early to make sure you get a spot next to your friend.

  • We release classes on a fortnightly basis, and we’ll send an email to our mailing list when we do.

In the gym

  • Yes. Please bring a padlock to use them, or they’re available to buy from the gym front desk.

  • Yes, all our gyms are equipped with showers. Please bring your own towel.

  • We’re based at a few different gyms, so please check your confirmation email.

  • Please don’t use any of the gym equipment apart from the spin bikes! But we’re sure the gym would love to chat to you about membership if you like the look of the place 🙂

What to bring

  • We’ve put together a checklist of what you should consider bringing to class. Feel free to save it to your phone!

  • Loose-fitting sport clothing and general sport trainers are best. The spin studios are air conditioned but they get pretty sweaty!

Don’t worry about coming in the latest designer gear. There will be plenty of people in class in their regular gym stuff.

  • The bikes we use can take certain types of cycling cleats. Drop us a line if you want to check whether yours will work.

  • Yes, the gyms we use provide wet kit bags.

  • Watch this space :)

In class

  • The spin studio opens ten minutes before class starts. Please arrive in good time to get set up on your bike and ask any questions. If it’s your first Ride, we’d encourage you to come as early as possible so we can make sure you’re safe and comfortable before you start.

  • We get it - transport snafus happen. Unfortunately we can’t let you in if you arrive after we finish warming up for safety reasons.

  • Please let your instructor know before class starts if you have any injuries or issues. They’ll check that you’re confident to participate and that you’re OK to do it at your own risk.

  • Yes, you’re very welcome! Please either email us and let us know in advance of class, or let your instructor know before you start. Bear in mind that our instructors aren’t experts in dealing with pre-natal exercise, so you’ll need to proceed at your own risk.

  • Please let your instructor know before class and we can make sure we accommodate you.

Other stuff

  • Not yet, but we’re working on it :)

  • We love private groups! Please say Hi and tell us more.

Changes and cancellations

  • We get it, plans change! You can move your class date up to 12 hours before your class starts. Unfortunately we can’t issue refunds if you change your mind about coming.

  • It’s always best to let us know if you can’t attend. Unfortunately we can’t refund you if you decide not to attend your class.
